Motor swap question

I have a 98 F150 w/ a 4.2 in it. I need to rebuild/replace it. I don't have the money do that at the moment. I just picked up a running 3.8 motor and tranny out of an 04 Mustang (for next to nothing). Will it fit in the truck without a lot of work and modification? Just as a temporary fix until I can afford to get the original fixed/replaced.

Re: Motor swap question

Be careful. I did this years ago on an e series with a v6 out if something else. Not sure exactly what it was out of but the angle of the heads were the intake bolts was different. Didn't realize it till it was in and putting intake on. Sorry I don't have a defiance answer.

Found this: 4.2 to 3.8 engine swap - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
