diagnostic programs?

Has anyone used a down loadable computer diagnostic program? and if so what is a good one that's in expensive?

Still using the old school. How much would you be using it? If you're constantly playing, it might be worth it, but the last I looked, the good ones were a little pricey and didn't buy you anything as a DIY repair tool.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

I found one on internet for 80 bucks that supposed to be a dianostic scanner and a programmer that you download to a lap top its call auto doctor. you just have to go to amazon or ebay and by the usb to odb plug.

I use Vehicle Explorer 1 from OBD-2 Vehicle Explorer Scan Tool Browser with the Tri-Can cable.

Just looked at his site and he's sold out right now.

You need a thorough understanding of OBD 2 and being half geek will help.

This system lets me look at ALL the modules, not just Powertrain codes. Helps a lot to see whats going on with body control and SRS modules on my wife's minivan.

$270 or so when I got it in 2005, paid for itself the first time I used it.

I run it on a Panasonic Toughbook laptop with Windows 98.

I'd like to migrate this to a smartphone. Has anyone come across a package like that, that reads all the modules on a car's network?
