What transmission

Hi. I am new to this game. I bought a 1970s F100 and F250. Still working on the F100 and she is almost ready for the road. The F250 has the original in line 6 engine with a floor shift 3 speed gearbox. What better gearbox can I replace it with coz I want to keep the original engine.

Re: What transmission

I moved you to your own thread for better traffic. What are you looking for? Better strength or more gears? Both the 240 and the 300 were the same block, and they ran the 300 at least into the late 80's. Happy hunting.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

Re: What transmission

If you are still interested, the M5OD-R2 gives you 4 speeds and an overdrive. It's the big brother to the ranger's 5 speed and came stock mated to the 300 in later F150s.
