Question 1993 Ford Tempo

in damp/humid weather ONLY my 1993 Tempo recently started gasping for breath when i floor it, it'll spit sputter & hesitate, like it's missing and once in awhile backfire, garages don't seem to know the issue, and i definately don't ... up until now it has run fantastic, it's been an all around GREAT car ... i just had a tune-up a little over 1 month ago .... it does this ONLY in damp/humid weather .... any ideas anyone?

Re: 1993 Ford Tempo

Firstly I would check the ignition coil and plug wires for tracking due to damp or even dirt which can cause the same tracking before getting too involved . Also check for any vac leaks as this can cause lean mixture and wont help with
any back fire symptoms .
