Chain; as all Aussie productiuon Falcons regardless of model. series or year have timing chains, including all inline 6's, V8's and ecoboost 4's.

Yes; but the plastic chain guides are another matter and when they fail they can break the chain. Most often broken the guides are broken when the head gasket is replaced and people don't lift the head vertically far enough when removing the head so it hits the chain guide that protrudes above the block as the head is swung or lifted out of the engine bay. Many people will leave the broken guide in place as offload the car as replacing the guides requires removal of the timing cover and sump ( an engine out job). Similarly, there is a technique for reinstalling the chain tensioner and if this is not does correctly you'll have issues with the chain and /or guides.

BTW there are timing belts in some of the smaller (non Falcon) OZ manufactured, assembled and imported Fords.
