302 2v upgrades

Questions; I'm getting a 1968 302 2v rebuilt because of bad rings. I'm going with a mild upgrade on the cam. Do I need to upgrade the 24" radiator, 2" dual exhaust, or oil pump?

Re: 302 2v upgrades

Always advisable to renew oil pump when overhauling engine , a lot of engine rebuilders insist on it or no warranty given .A mild upgrade on cam usually wont cause any problems but would be a good idea to get radiator checked out for flow / pressure test before installing engine .

Never, never, never give up.

As RS Logan noted above it would be a good idea to get the radiator checked out. As for the 2" dual exhaust and, I assume that your talking about upgrading to a high flow/pressure oil pump, there's really no need. A new stock oil pump will work fine.

You may also be happier with a vacuum modulated carburetor or stepping up to an EFI conversion. It is extra cash, but you'll end up with better cruising economy and better performance.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?
