We know of about about 80-100 late model 2001-2006 F-250's and 350's towing Caravans (Australian for live in trailers). There have been 2 for sure, and 3 rumoured, to have had the Ford Automatic tranmissions fail, reports that can be verified.. There are a couple more reported that are rumours.. I myself have a 2003 F-250 Powerstroke 7.3 Crew Cab, which is the most common type here, with the automatic. I tow a 22' Bushtracker Caravan. Is the automatic a weak link when doing a big job? I could look for a spare if this is the case.. There are more Fords in the USA, than people in Australia, so I thought this Forum would know the real answer...

Most of the late F-Series Series here are automatics, and I just want to know if this is the weak link or not... Thank you for your comments in advance...

Kind Regards from an F-Series Enthusiast on the "Last Frontier" in Oz....
