I recently pulled my Stang out of the shop and while I was driving it back home, I gassed it from 45 to 70 and my engine overheated and spewed coolant everywhere, even on the windshield of the car behind me. I took a peep under the hood and from what it looks like, it's the overflow hoses. The hose going from the radiator cap has a hole in it, and the hose coming out of the overflow tank is disconnected. The car still starts so nothing is damaged engine wise. What caused the hose to disconnect from where it was supposed to be?

I refilled the radiator and let it run for about 20 min without the cap on and that sort of helped, it was able to accelerate nicely without overheating but once I would let off the gas the temp gauge would start slowly moving upward

While I had it running for that 20 min the temp gauge didn't change at all, it just stayed cool while it was idling
