I have a 1972 Ford F250 with a 429 someone swapped in. I'm planning on rebuilding it and doing a bunch of work to the truck. My dad recently had it repainted because a tree fell on it, so I'm wanting to yank the motor out and work on taking care of some rust inside the engine bay and painting it too. While it's out, I want to rebuild and paint the motor too. It already runs pretty rough so I think it will be good for it. I'm hoping I can get some tips and tricks to rebuilding one of these old motors haha and some ideas on what a good 5 speed manual transmission would be to pair with it. It already has a 4 speed but I'm hoping for something that has a better highway gear haha. Let me know what y'all think and I'll take any advice all y'all will give.
