Hey All,
I've got a 1977 351W that I've rebuilt entirely, it actually was being used as a marine engine. I've got around to assembling it and I can't seem to get it running. As I crank it over it acts like it wants to run and puffs a bit of exhaust out, but I can't get it to fire. I've got spark when the engine cranks and fuel in the carb. Something that may be worth mentioning is, my mechanical fuel pump is bad, so I've got an electric one in it's place. I THINK it's pushing too much fuel pressure so I only run it for a second to get fuel up to the carb then turn it off. Obviously this is not a permanent solution, but I would think it should run off of the fuel in the carb at least for a few seconds, right?
Any help/thoughts are appreciated.
