I need to replace the water pump on my 1987 Bronco II. I've done this before on a full size Bronco with no problems. My concern is removing the fan. It's one that has a clutch. Any special tools required to remove the fan? Any other gotchas with replacing a water pump on a Bronco II?

No special tool needed to remove the fan but it is a pain. Nothing else will be too major. Just make sure to protect the radiator.

Thanks for the response. I finished the task today. You're right about the fan. I had to use a strap wrench to hold the water pump pullies and channel locks on the nut holding the fan to the water pump. Chilton listed two special tools require but my technique worked. The pump is left hand threaded. While I was at it I replaced the thermostat, and all hoses and belts.
