So my 2000 ford ranger just started making this noise yesterday and when I gains speed you can't hear it as loud but when it is not moving it is louder. Doesn't change when you turn just accelerating. Any ideas?My 2000 ranger

I would remove the belt and start it to see if the noise goes away. If it does, spin the alternator, water pump, power steering pump and etc to see if you can isolate it. Inspect the belt and fan clutch as well.

To add to above , check idler pulley and belt tensioner also .

You have something hitting your fan, sounds to me. Did you look between the fan and the radiator for a dead critter or newspaper?
