G'day all,

A few days ago, after normal driving, my ABS light came on. I plugged in an OBD II reader and it came back with the following codes:
  • C1235 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing, and
  • C1236 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing.
This morning when I drove the car, I started it and the ABS light remained on, then went off after about 30 seconds - while the light was off, the brakes shuddered when applied - then after another 10-20 seconds the ABS light would come back on and stay on, and the brakes work fine.

I have checked the Brake Fluid reservoir and it is full.

Appreciate any guidance you can provide. Happy to help out with photos or videos - just let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bert, thanks for your reply.

I removed the sensor from the rear differential and cleaned it up. There were some minor metallic build up on the sensor tip, however this has all been removed and the clean sensor re-installed.

I checked the harness and plug and all looked well.

Reset the ECU, went for a drive, however the problem remains. No change.

I have some workshop software that provides instruction on checking for voltage at the sensor, so I’ll give that a go. Otherwise I think I’m looking at a new/replacement hydraulic pump.
