Im replacing the intake manifold gaskets, there was a leak. Uts a 2003 Grand Marquis 165000 miles. Runs great besides the miss from said leak. Upon removing the intake I noticed cracks throughout a thin pladtic type plenum. My question is do I need to replace this, do I need it? I'm sure it's because the only way to obtain it is by a head gasket set . Didn't come with the intake gasket kit. I don't remember my 98crown vic having this when I changed the intake

My Dad's 99 Merc Marquis has a small anti freeze leak (front corner) Is that what your was leaking? It does seem to have a mis fire also?
Did you change just the gasket or did you replace the plastic manifold also.

I answered you before., but I didn't see anything about a misfire. Either the manifold or the gasket is leaking. You can get it pressure tested to see if you can see where it's coming from. Another way is to wipe it down as best you can, then give it a light dusting of talc and see if you can pick up where the leak is originating.
