Hi,

Well, it seems I have a blown out head gasket. The coolant system is pressuring up and the engine is overheating. The Original problem was a leaking water pump. After replacing the water pump and then the radiator we are still pressuring up and overheating. I have de-gassed the system several times. I have considerable mechanical experience, but have never pulled a head. I'm leaning towards doing the job if I can find the detailed job break down. Can some one help me with this please.

Many thanks,

Steve

Take it the thermostat is not jammed and the rad fan cutting on o.k ? If so , this is a walkthrough by one of our former members for a Ford Taurus 3.0L 12v . A block test usually confirms heads / gaskets gone or not .May be similar to your vehicle but not sure . Might / might not help.

Thanks R.S,

I think the thermostat, radiator and fan are in order. That video is for the Vulcan engine, not the duratec that I have. I wonder if there is a similar video or written instructions for the duratec.

Any help to find what I need for the duratec would be greatly appreciated.

Seem there is a lack of videos for the Duratec but if I can find any walkthroughs or videos I will stick them up here .
