Hello,

My daughter has a 2009 Escape, 4 cyl, manual transmission. Last night she was out and when she returned home she stopped at the end of the driveway to to back in. Just as she did this the car completely died. There were no lights or anything. She said she did not have any warning lights before this. I looked at it and like she said it is dead. We parked it on the street overnight and I went back out today. It is still dead. There is nothing at all happening. I tested the battery with a voltmeter and it is reading 12.65 volts so the battery looks good. I looked at the ground to body and it is tight but there is rust around that area. I was reading around and it seems to be likely there is some wiring issue but where is the first place that I should be looking aside from getting rid of the rust around the ground.

Thanks for any help and ideas.
Terry

I'd start with your fuses. Power relay, both PCM's, Fuel Pump, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. Didn't find anything so had to take to a garage. They found a main wire from the battery was broken and fixed it. All is working again.
