Good Evening,

The "check brake system" light flashes and beeps on occasion before I turn the key to turn the engine and start the car. Any ideas what could be wrong? It doesn't stay on so it's confusing. I took it in to the shop, nothing came up when they scanned it, and I just had my brakes and rotors replaced in January, the shop did a brake check as well, all good there. What should I be looking at? It's a high mileage SUV at this point, maybe a computer system?

if there was no DTC's trouble codes there isnt anyting to worry about as far as the light. anything that would triger your brake light whould store a trouble code and is part of the brake circits abs wheel speed sensors hcu, low brake fluid. but the pads and rotors will never set off a brake light because they are not conected to the brake electrical circuit.

You did check the obvious , brake reservoir fluid level ?
