About 8 weeks ago my truck alerted me with an audible tone and I saw my oil pressure “gauge” on the cluster drop to zero. I had the obvious panic moment and then the light turned green. As I hit the gas pedal and expected to hear a screech, the alarm went off and my pressure went back to normal. As I said that was an about 8 weeks ago. It’s happened many times between now and then, but never under load and acceleration. Any ideas?

Assuming the oil level is full, a number of things can cause this: contaminated oil, plugged oil filter, a poor electrical connection, usually at the sending unit, the sending unit itself, weak oil pump.
The mentioned are the most common causes.

Thank you! I’ll start there!
Same thing happened to my Mountaineer and I replaced the oil pressure sending unit and it never done it again
