So I am putting a Felpro gasket set through a 302 (windsor) and find this unusual fitting. As I'm used to rekitting sbc and 360 mopar this seems weird. Someone has fitted the rollmaster double row chain kit and some unbranded 1.6 roller rockers, but this offset fitting seems to me like if would unbalance the whole rotating mass. Can anyone explain or is this someones backyard fitment?

If you mean the item in front of the cam gear, it's for a fuel pump.

   Thank you good sir. Running elec pump. So no mechanical lever.
