Hey Guys
I Bought a Cleveland motor a while back and was told it was a 351.
After pulling it apart I cant find any numbers on the crank.All the ones Ive seen have A large 351 on them.It has standard bearings and bore.Also on the side of the pistons is stamped 351c.It had 2v open chamber heads and a 4 barrel spread bore manifold.The block was stamped with an engine number HS2045c on the right hand side near the heater tube.
Can any one confirm that this is a 351 and any idea what it might of come out of????

If the heads are off? Check the stroke. Should be 3.5". If the heads are not off? A coat hanger will suffice but be gentle.

Unless it has "302c" stamped on it, it will be a 351c. Most likely with a 4MA crank.

once you see open chamber heads its a 351....and ofcourse 3 1/2 inch stroke..!!

I agree, o/c heads it'd be a 351

After cleaning it up I found it was stamped 4ma. Can any one tell me what this means?

i was told it was just the standard 351 crank, the 4mab crank is the sought after 1 because it was steel not cast. another person told me if its stamped 351 only this is standard, the 4ma crank was a lighter version and was a ford motor sport version a bit stronger still cast and the 4mab was the steel crank that came out in f trucks and gt's. dunno whos right, but sum theories my mates came up wif dunno where they heard it, im intrested in this answer too if any1 knows the real meaning.

4mab cranks were not steel they are nodular iron ,
they were found in LTD`s , GT`s , and landau`s
