I'm rebuilding my first 4.6L DOHC engine. It came out of a 1998. Lincoln MK VIII. Seems to be a good low mileage junkyard find. I did a leak down so I'm going to leave the heads alone. Going to treat it to a new set of rings, bearings, timing chain and gears. Rings and bearings are no problem

I would like to know what timing chains and gears to use. The price is all over the map. It varies from $100 to $600. I don't mind paying more if I'm getting my money's worth. Are Ford OEM

Cloyes and Melling would be my go to brands if oem isn’t available. Also, if you can get a set, find some iron or steel tensioners instead of the plastic tensioners. They’ll last another couple hundred thousand miles no problem.
