C9VE-B should be a 1970 429CJ engine block, C9VE-A should be a 1970-71 429CJ, SCJ and Police cylinderhead. Sounds like a nice engine!
I have this info from Tom Monroe's "How to rebuild Ford V8 engines" published by HPBooks, ISBN 0-89586-036-8. It's pretty old so I don't know if it's still published.
