Have any of you tried putting 5.0 roller lifters in your Clevelands? I was told they were the same diameter, and that I could use the stock H-bars and Spider hold-down, if I tap the block for it.

My question is this: Are they the same length? Will the base circle of the camshaft be the same as a normal Cleveland?

You can use them l have done it many times you just need the right base circle on the cam which is about .200" smaller than std

depens on the grind of the cam and your block as they are not all the same in the lifter bore height

The cam doesn't exist yet.
I guess I'll buy the lifters, then take some measurements to try to figure this out. The block is a 1970 model, with 2 bolt mains.
