Just starting to work up a 64 v8 car. It has an older Granada ft disk swap and that works well. The column and box were changed to a 65 but they had trouble to connect the 64 tie rod to the 65 steering arm. They cut the 65 pitman arm and welded 64 front to it. Very nice weld job done by a pro shop. It all fits up and steers ok needing lined up. But on the drivers side the tie rods are screwed all the way out and still cant get a good toe in.

Questions
Why couldn't they connect the 64 tie rod to the 65 pitman arm
Do I need to swap out for all 65 parts and the adaptors at the spindle end
If I stay as is where can I get a longer tie rod adjuster or tie rod

Not really sure what the answer is, but I have 3 ideas,
1) I know the Mustang's tie rod ends will fit the Falcon, the Mustang is slightly wider... It's only a thought, I don't know the specs.
2) Cut and thread the existing tie rod and add another adjuster, I've seen that done when a tie rod couldn't be adjusted due to corrosion, we had to cut about a 1/2" gap to accommodate the adjuster.
3) cut the tie rod and weld it back together with a wafer or two.
