So I bought a 9 inch rear out of a 1964 Ford Galaxie and was going to use it for my Hot rod and realized it was to long for what I wanted. So I bought a 8 3/4 inch rear out of a 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber. The 9 inch rear had a 12 inch brake plate and the 8 inch rear had a 11 inch break plate. My question is it it OK to install the 12 inch brake plates and brakes to the 8 inch rear. all the bolt holes line up and all the measurements seam to be the same. Will this work or has anyone tried this before. Thank you.

Not sure what the stroke length of the brake cylinder, may have to change the master cylinder to accommodate. Other than that, as long as you have clearance.
