In order to disassemble the setup. I used a 4 foot steel pipe and put it between the spindle/hub assembly and the sway bar, then put the end under the subframe. Lean down. This will allow force the ball joint on the control arm to drop. Once it has dropped enough to clear the spindle, swing the strut/spindle assembly out of the way.
You'll still need a rather large socket to get the nut off, to remove the axle from the spindle/hub.
