Hey guys, just about to buy a good used engine and need to know if a '97 base 2.0 probe engine will fit into a '93 base 2.0 probe?

Thanks for any info guys...

Depends on what parts you want to use. The mechanics of the engine are the same. The sensors are not. Also, there may be some differences in the intake manifold, but I'm not very informed on this. Number one difference, the 93 is ODB-I and the 97 is ODB-II. So make sure you use all parts accordingly. Another problems encountered may be different cooling lines and the crank position. The only reason I'm aware of this is because there is no UDP for the 97. I believe it may affect the sensor. Look into that. Otherwise, good luck.
