Could use ya'lls help before i call a locksmith.

I have a 1998 Mustang GT. Its a longer term project, and i let it sit for awhile, with and without the battery hooked up. I tried starting it up again recently and the engine would turn over but not fire up. While i crank it, the Theft light flashes.

All ignition components are new. The car ran ricky tick before i let it sit. Fuel Pressure test shows no fuel pressure. I am using the original keys, same keys that came with the vehicle and worked before.

Anything else i should check before i call a locksmith?

If the theft light is flashing the ecu is not recognizing the key, which does not let the fuel pump prime. Have you tried using both keys? Try cycling the ignition and leaving it in accessory for a minute and see if the theft light stops flashing. Also make sure the check engine light illuminates when you turn the key.

Also count the theft light flashes if its flashing in pattern. For example, flash flash - pause - flash flash flash flash = 24

Sounds like a PATS (vehicle immobilizer) issue as mentioned above.

Locate your fuel pump reset switch (google) and push the reset button.

I think you have a bad fuel pump relay but they are so hard to locate on the vehicle. Ford placed them in different locations like engine compartment r/s, left side kick plate, behind the windshield washer reservoir and other places I can’t find. If you locate it post it here.

Most likely its a pats issue since the theft light is flashing.

Also the fuel pump relay is in the under hood fuse box. Later fox bodies had the fuel pump relay under the drivers seat.

Edit: Actually I was wrong it is in the ccrm in the passenger side fender.
