My dad's 99 f-150 won't start,he replaced the O2 sensors,fuel filter,fuel pump. He hooked up OBD II reader & it said code O2. After all that it still won't start,it almost does but nothing. He threw the towel in but I told him let me try this & see if anyone has a different idea to try. Thank you.

Start (no pun intended) with the basics, ignition, fuel and timing.

I’d begin by drizzling a little bit of gas into the intake and cranking it over to see if it will momentarily run.

To check for spark, I use a jumper cable and a spare spark plug. Ground the body of the plug with the jumper cable and pull off one of the spark plug wires (or coils) and attach it to the spare plug. Have a helper crank it, you should see a healthy spark.

Those 2 quick tests should point you in the right direction. Let us know what you find.

If those tests pass, we’ll go into timing checks.
