need help: have to buy a v-8 4x4. have been a toyoya 4x4 owner. can i pls get advice on a 92-93 Fseries Ford v-8 4x4 ext.cab? what should i look out for? what problems do the 92-93 Fseries 4x4 trucks have? what is a good price? thanks in advance

Mountain Man: Look for any trucks maintenance history, and the way it's been treated in general by the former owner. Those trucks were awesome in general and should last you along time with the proper maintenance.

Ford Pickups

I have a 95 F150 and am very pleased with it. The only things I would suggest you look at really closely at would be the half shafts and ball joints in the front end. Check for a lot of slop in the rear differencial. Also the drag link and tie rod ends tend to be a little short lived on the 1980 to 1996 style fords. I mention these parts because I have owned three of this style ford truck (1982 F150 and a 1986 Bronco also)and all of which needed the same basic parts. Mostly ware items. Other than that, they are a great vehicle to go with.
