Well if I'm the first to say.
Here I go, Just bought my wife her first 2000 Taurus
(3-12-01) One great looking car! (Black)
This one has the Duratec 24 V Very quick as to my other car is a 81 Mercury Lynx 1.6 carb.
Must take to dealer for a speedo problem, there no speed reading and the transaxles light flashes and then the check engine light come on.
As I'm a smog tech. I check and clear codes and came back again.
So I hope this is not a major thing.
Now I will add stuff to make this one better looking car.

I'd always wondered about these cars.

They look nice. I truly wish they had made a SHO out of this car.

Back from the shop

Well got my wife's Taurus back from the shop.
It took them 9 days to replace the car's speed sensor and now the car runs great
The dealer stated that they started work on it on the 7th day and they had to order the part and it was in on the 5th day and the trans tech was off over the weekend.
Oh well. The ford ESP plan paid for a rental car for our trip to Disneyland while I was on vacation.

2001 Taurus SEL

I have a 2001 SEL (black with tan leather) and really am impressed with the car. Since my January purchase, I have not found a single Taurus related site that speaks about performance enhancements for these cars. Does anyone know of tire/wheel combos, exhaust systems, suspension kits? I'm not sure if I wnat to tear into a brand new car, but I would like to know there are options if I choose.

:nuts: well I'm been missing for a while.
Sorry about that . As a Smog tech its been busy here.
well my wife's car is still running great. Its got 6k miles on it now.
She just drives it to her work and back. It only went to Las Vegas in June to take my wife and her sister to the airport. Their mother had a heart attack in Ohio.
car get 26 mpg on the highway and 20 around town.
I guess that is average?
Any new reader have any thing to say?
