Well just about 1 hour ago i got side swipped by a White F***ing Excel. I was the first car at an intersection and the guy lost control of his car and swipped my mirror and front guard and door. Theres a few scratch's and panel looks bent.

Whats even more effed, the guy took off and being at the intersection i couldn't go after him, so now i have to fork out repair bills out of my pocket. :( :( :(

Sadly this could mean a no show of me to the Melbourne trip. All becuase of some bastards bad driving and d*** h*** attitude not to stop.

Sorry to say this but as far as i'm concearned Excel drivers can get effed.

So yeah i'm really"NOT HAPPY JAN". :fmad: :fmad: :fmad: :fmad: :fmad:

That's a real bummer man. There's always an arsehole somewhere around.
Put it this way, at least the car is slightly damaged and not you or worse.

Yeah thanks for the support guys, really appreciate it.

About chasing after the guy, i thought of it but when he hit me i was still at a red and there were a stream of cars comming through the intersection. By the time the lights turned green i couldn't of turned anyway. Those people in living in Penrith would know what i mean, i was comming from Ransley St the road next to the football stadium and i was heading straight to Panthers. At that time of the night the streets are busy. When the lights go green it's nie impossible to to a U Turn unless i use the U Turn in Panthers.
Thats why this is such a crap situation as i don't have enough proof for an investigation. Cops wouldn't do anything, so i didn't bother reporting it.

Mike, reason for my possible no show for melbourne trip is, the cost of repairing this accident, basically if it's going to cost over $500 it's going to affect my melbourne expenditure. :(

Yeah to continue on, sorry bout the loong post..

About my baby i had a look at it this morning an luckily it wasn't too bad, still going to cost abit to fix though. :( :( :(

Most of the scratch's and scuff's can be polished out, but the drivers door is bent it slightly where the blinker is, lens is smashed mould is effed and mirror is slightly scratched.
But i'm really disappointed as the EF was in basically showroom condition. :( :( :(
I'm going to the smash repair to see how much the damage is going to cost hopefully they'll bring my baby back like new. I'm abit nervous about the cost as being a hard colour to match theres going to be alot of blending involved and perhaps full panel re-sprays. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Sorry to hear about your ride man :(

Just one thing you have to remember, the Ford Trip is most probably a once in a life time opportunity, where your car can be fixed anytime (its still drivable right?). If you didnt go, you'll be kicking yourself bigtime after hearing how great it was from all the people who went. Some things in life arnt just worth missing out on and I think this is one of them!

Watching Ford win Bathurst at Bathurst is one thing, but watching it at Ford HQ is something totally different :D:D

Mate, sorry to hear about your accident. I had my XC sideswipped when it was parked at a street. Luckly they were built tough back then so the marks buffed off easily and replacement mirrors only cost $10 at k mart.

Gary, it shouldn't be too bad. I did some damage to my old EA, making a bit of a mess of the rear passenger side door and a bit of the rear quarter around the front part of the wheel arch. The door had to be 'skinned', and even though the % of the damage to the rear quarter was minor, the entire rear had to be resprayed. This cost me about $550 to have this all fixed.

As you've done a front door and a front quarter panel, perhaps you might expect a similar amount, but it depends how bad the damage actually is. Hopefully it's not too bad.

Bad luck mate, don't let the damage stop you from the club run this weekend.

If you can, get a day off work and visit Cox Ave in Kingswood, there's quite a few panel shops in that area. I dropped off my car at Sinclair Smash Repairs this morning (warranty job on the paint defect on the boot), and they are Sinclair Ford's panel shop. I pick up the car Tuesday arvo, so I can let you know the quality when I've got it back. You might also try Kingswood Smash Repairs for a quote comparison, and I think there's another Ford-specialist panel shop around there as well. My father and sister recently had some work done at Panther Prestige (a Land Rover Defender and a Toymotor Corolla), which was apparantly good work so they might be worth contacting - on Batt St I think, a few other shops on that street as well. If you want something closer, try Lower Mountain Smash Repairs in Blaxland. My gf's father used to be a panel beater, and he says they are one of the better panel shops in the area, do show cars on top of day to day work. Penrith Smash Repairs (near Office Works/My Car) have a decent rep, saw their drag car in the pages of the last Street Machine, so they might be worth looking at too.

Well took my baby to the Smash repairs this morning and got a quote. It's going to cost me $526.00 for the repair and i'm booked in for next monday. I'll be pointing some things out to let them know i'm very picky with my car.

Venom S,
I'm getting it done with Lower Mountain Shash Repairs, you've given me abit of optimism about their quality of work. My mate who bent his EL $12000 damage got it repaired there so the guy knows me as i went with my mate before.
From the way he explained to me about how he approaches his work i'm pretty confident, but i guess the end result will speak for it self.

eb_5litre,
Unfortunately this weekend will be a no show for me. :( :( :( But when my baby is back and if it's repaired A1 i'm down for a newcastle sunday, or any other cruise.

el2xr8,
Yeah i should be able to go on the Melbourne Trip, but it's going to cut it real fine on my costs.

That price sounds about right then, and seeing as you're being look after by a respected panel shop, I'd say that's good value. Let us know how it goes. I'll post tomorrow night about my experience with Sinclair Smash Repairs.
