adding factory air conditioning vents to a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500

I searched the forum and didn't find anything relevant so hopefully this is not a redundant post. I would like to know what is involved in adding factory air conditioning vents and whatever firewall components are needed to a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500. I would like the vents to be in the dash and not under the dash. I've kind of assumed that this is not commonly done. And I am guessing the dash base that holds all of the dash components in place is welded to the body but I really don't know if that is the case. I don't want to just cut holes in the dash base as I assume that would not have a great result.

Has anybody attempted this or can anybody let me know what would be involved and how difficult this would be? I know that there are newer air conditioning components (like compressors) available from after market sources and am happy to use as many new components as possible as long as the vents are in the dash and look factory original.

All help is appreciated.
