You have cruise control, which is not commonly found on the GL? That's my guess, everything else looks normal...

I do have cruise control... That was an option... as is the automatic trans that my car USED to have...

Yup! Swapped it when I swapped my 6th crappy automatic for the 89 GT manual I've got now...

The plan was to also put the Gt turboed engine in it as well until my parts car was stolen from the Ghettos of D-Town.


Still more than pissed about that... NOT to mention the stereo was ripped out of my Mustang a few weeks later (along with my busted up nearly irreplacable dash)!

I'm in the same boat...

I need a speedo that can support my speed. I have to guess after 95mph, what's that all about. Looks like that'll be one my new mod's!

ooh...

quick little FYI before you attempt this swap.

If you do not cut the yellow/white wire going to the gauge cluster... the engine will cut out in any gear at approximately 4 grand. VERY annoying problem.

Everything else is smooth though... the cruise control etc. will be unaffected. Provided you put the screws in correctly.
