It's a lot easier with the upper plenum off, you'll need either a T25 or T30 on a long skinny extension (preferably 1/4" drive) to get to the center bolt on the passenger side of the plenum.

May need to either bypass it or get one out of the junk yard.

The OEM part number you are looking for is E3AF-12A699-AA and appears to be impossible to find.

Standard Motor Products # KS13 (discontinued) was an aftermarket replacement with few still available.

Found a few on eBay KS13 knock sensor | eBay

Find a used sensor.
Do not bypass it.
The device is a Quartz crystal that generates a signal from a knock detection in the block, to the ECM.
The reason is it detects spark knock and retards the ignition timing up to 8 degrees for a short time until the knock is no longer present.
Without it you may hear ping and knock under heavy loads and is not good for piston, rod and main bearing health..
Good luck

Very slim to none. As stated above it only detects knock. That signal is then sent to PCM and translated to retard ignition timing. It's not capable of shutting down ignition.
