Ahhhhh, its the holiday season, and I have too much time, and not enuf ideas !!!!!

Just wondering what modifications people have planned, or are in the process of trying.

Im mainly interested in things that can be done / have been done by owners. (IE not big budget, take the car to specialist type mods) - Stuff that can be tried without spending more than a couple of hundred dollars.

Some examples are
1) Interior Changes, adding Ghia / LTD/ T Series Gear to their car.
2) Dash changes, IE Coloured Dash lamps, Changing instruments
3) Exterior Changes, changing lamps, adding plastic bits, grills.
4) Painting Exterior / Interior / Engine Bay parts
5) Modding the engine, Brakes, Suspension or Electrical.

HELP ME !!!! Im starting to check out the Corolla forums for Ideas !!!!!

Ok,

'91 351W with SCAT 3.85" stroke crank for 391ci, Flat top 302 pistons for 10.6:1 compression,Ported Edelbrock RPM heads, Edelbrock Victor 5.8 EFI intake,78mm BBK t-body, Crane hyd. roller cam, ARP fasteners throughout, 30lb injectors,5.0 EECIV, EEC-Tuner, Pro-M 83mm MAF, my own 1 3/4" headers(nobody makes any off the shelf).

Wide ratio C4 (2.84 1st, 1.55 2nd)and early small 10" diameter converter or, (if I can determine if it will handle it) a beefed version of a BTR 95LE auto.

It isn't cheap(although it is much cheaper than a 302 based stroker).
I'll be doing it all myself.

Oh and it's going into my XE ute.
It will protrude through the bonnet slightly(Intake is 11.5" high). Rest assured there will be no plastic bits or poxy pro stock type scoops covering it. There will be either a (genuine alloy)shaker mounted on the upper intake or, if the area is too great, a steel buldge in the shape of the upper intake welded into the bonnet.

Pete.

ok, for an AU:

1) Interior Changes, adding Ghia / LTD/ T Series Gear to their car.
so far i've only added a chrome shifter surround to my car, but chrome doorhandles and a leather T bar are also lined up. nothing major

2) Dash changes, IE Coloured Dash lamps, Changing instruments
nil

3) Exterior Changes, changing lamps, adding plastic bits, grills.
i've changed those side indicator lenses from orange to clear so far. i'll be changing the rear lights to fairmont spec, and a twin-nostril aftermarket grille.

4) Painting Exterior / Interior / Engine Bay parts
once again, this is lined up but not happening yet... i'll be getting the centre instrument panel sprayed the same colour as the car - prestige red

5) Modding the engine, Brakes, Suspension or Electrical.
the car's lowered, but it would cost you a bit so i won't talk about that

what car have you got?

Hey. These are the things i want done by the time iget back to uni. I luv my ED!

For the Interior:
  • Full leather re trim, seats and door inserts in 2 tone (~$2000) With actual decent leather, not the low grade crap they use in all cars regardless of make.
  • Finish off my stereo system. Needs a 5 channel kicker amp, a midbass driver, pair of spilts in the front, and a capacitor. Oh and i gotta make the install look schmick, neat and clean but no neons etc etc. Keep the install looking stock and you wont get rolled (~1500 - $2000)
  • Tinting of the windows. Dark... (~$200 -$300)
  • Getting a set of fairmont door trims and electric window equipment. I think a smidge of wood grain would go well :s5 (~wayyyy to much $1000?)

For the exterior:
  • body kit front, rear and side skirts. EB style boot lip. (~???)
  • Respray, and removal of 170000 kms worth of dints and chips. ($1200)

Mechanically / Performance:

Im concentrating on a better car to drive this year. More comfortable, looks sweet and handles better. Come 2003 however... :wnc:.... blower time

Cheers

Will
