You can hear the starter motor cranking and we are so close to Having Ignition it's not funny. The baby arrives tomorrow - Friday afternoon 10 August. Will update when it happens (I have to make a fuss because XR8220 has beaten me by miles!)

But you have had a few more stops along the way.

Great to here that you will finally get ya bum in it. And with a few extra cubes as well :D

Put just over 2000 K's on mine sofar, and have enjoyed everyone of them.

Waiting to here all your reports

A Ford engine having 1 more cube than a Chev engine - the more things change, the more they stay the same. :D

Well I would have got Red if they had it for the VT Series 2 SS but they didn't.

I guess they were fast enough already ;) :p

Mate, to be honest i'm on your side about colours, for the Xr8 and SS my choice would be Blue or Silver.

The torch relay escort Commodores were 'RED HOT' VT2 SS 9C1 sedans. From memory there were 6 built. As far as I know none where sold to the public, Holden apparently sold them in house.:(

Hey guys - I got the car late Friday arvo after some major hassles. City Ford put No. 1 priority on it to get things done.

I have put about 50 kays on it so far because with a wedding tomorrow this place is a circus!

The car was delivered complete, and City Ford did a great job on the prep. There are three things that need attention:
1. A slight crease in the bodywork that is very hard to see but once you know about it, it's obvious
2. A window mould requires refitting or replacement
3. The clutch action is hairy! Like having a frayed clutch cable - jerky and binding

The engine is of course a Herrod Stroker 347. It has the steel crank, H-beam rods and stud girdle. It has been balanced and blueprinted as well. Herrod recommend a new exhaust to match the stroker, however I kept the standard one.

I haven't revved it up yet because it needs running in. However, I can tell you the engine is SMOOOOTTTHHH and the torque and throttle response is sweet. the part throttle get up and go is awesome. The LS1 boys will be missing out on this!

The car has a 220 badge on the rear, however they forgot the engine cover at City Ford......

Anyhow, gotta go and do more wedding stuff. Will update next week.
