Well, due to my being famous within Ford (head swells dramatically) here are some photos of the beast. These are the photos you receive from Ford off the website. Haven't received the Tickford plant photos yet.

Thanks to certain people at Ford for these.... (grateful to the max!)

At the mercy of the 'Stuffer'
(Ford speak for the stuffing of the engine/driveline from below).

If you look closely you might just see Geoff Polites attaching brake calipers to the front sub assy....
(and the quality guys rectifying just after....  :D :D )

(Aussie Pete burns his bridges and is forever shunned by Ford Exec management!)

And, coming off the end of the Broadmeadows line - a finished car!
(Note; lights, bumpers, and other XR features are added at Tickford)

Excellent stuff Pete, and most importantly well done Ford    , this is the way to bring the blue oval to the top. Looking at those photos it makes the XR8 a really specially car compared to just another SS Commodore.

Pete, you must be very happy man.

And don't forget guys that this was a T series first that has moved on down the line. Goes to show how much thought was put into the concept in the first place and how far ahead of its time the idea was.

You guys underestimate me!
I have these photos, photos from Tickford line, and photos on the way from Tickford Tony of the car in various stages.

I have also arranged for the following:

- pics of the car in its next phase (stay tuned!)
- pics of the car in transport (if I can hook things up I may even have it on MY truck into City Ford)
- copies of vehicle surveys
- all stickers for transport and assy being kept

This will be an entire history file on the car (I can be a little obsessive.. ).

Oh, almost forgot. Ford had better hurry up 'cos this car was going to be a part in the big wedding day early August.
Not looking promising at the moment so had to book a hire car ( :( )

can you get your hands on the orginals?

I think Ford shoul do this for every T series and XR owner and present them with an album on collection of the car

{ps youre sure I carnt run it for you???}

I've been running a long time buddy. ALL my friends are married with children (some for a long time). I guess it had to catch up.

Besides, who do ya reckon is paying for the XR8?

The photos are digital, however I have already lined up a crowd who will produce prints for me.
As for running my car - no way. One clutch already - don't need more!!!!!

Them pictures are sensational. You must be getting very edgy Pete, waiting for it to be completed.
All of us have pics of our cars but not many have pictures of em being built!:D
Can't wait for my new car so I can go through the same process.

Three weeks is an eternity, let alone a year and a half. ;)
Russell.
