Yeh

Hi XC you are right about the board. Don't know if I like the Falcon section listed under 60s cars

Yeah.

Why is it that all the 'Seppo's' only deal with cars from their own country?

Don't Americans know that FORD is a worldwide company? I wonder if they know how many yanky donks are euro sourced? Like the Contour, the Cougar, the Escort (It's a MAZDA underneath), the Tempo and the Focus.

There need to be a few more sections in here for Australian Falcons, Lasers, Meteors and Telstars. European Fiestas, Escorts, Sierras and Granadas. There are even some custom Fords in South Africa and other parts of the world.

Sheesh. Bitch mode off.....

Chalk up another vote for a separate forum covering Falcons.

Btw anyone care to guess the engine configuration for the 255kW
Falcon that will be showing up at the Melbourne Motorshow?

My guess is GT40x heads, Cobra manifold and 341 cubes.

Shame I wont be there to see it but I'll be at the Tickford day
the weekend before and will be expecting the rest of you
there too. :)

No problem. Glad to be of service. Out of interest what sort of upgrade did you end
up getting?

I've been sitting on a set of rear slotted DBAs and Ultimate pads for a few months now.
Been too lazy to fit them so far but now that I'm an unemployed bum for a few weeks
I might just put them on.

I bought a set from CEBCO and I have just about got em fitted and hope to post photos ASAP on Bon. It is a slightly better kit than what Herrod could do for me and I saved about $300 thanks to you. In fact if Cebco hadn't worked out I probably wouldn't done anything.
I think I have stuffed up with the wheels though. I wanted to keep the Tickford look plus the suspension mods were really designed for 17" wheels but since then I have seen a couple of AU with nice 18".
Anyone have web sites that display wheels?

I'll be at both. I'm gunna fly down for the Tickford Day (staying the weekend) and taking Friday and Monday off the following weekend for the Motor Show. Couldn't afford to flt down both weekends so I'm driving down the second one. Be at the show on the Friday (2nd).

Hmmm.

I wonder if I will have more luck posting from home????

YEP!

Looks like it was the office firewall after all.
Strange, because it hasn't preventing me from posting anywhere else.

Now, how do we get these guys to move the Falcon Discussion thread out of the 60's era?

___________

OH SIMPLE! You ask and they do it! I like these guys.

They even move your posts (like this one) into the correct area.

I think it's a safe bet I'll be there.

The Tickford open day was brilliant. Heaps of car clubs were there and some mighty fine looking machines as well. There were Mustangs (old & new), one was even done up as a highway patrol car! (I got a piccie, so when they're developed I'll post it), GT's & XR's (the most number of XR8 Sprints I've ever seen in one place).
FTR were doing pit lane demos (& I must say, the car looks a million dollars in the flesh. The pictures don't do it justice.)
JB, Moffatt, Seto, S Richards were there signing there lives away and a huge sausage sizzle that made you hungry just driving past the place!!
The factory tour was very interesting. Nice to know how the cars all go together. There was a cobra ('stang), XR8 and a pursuit ute (did you know they're only making 350 pursuit utes!!) up on the hoist so you could see under them. I'd like to know how they moved the 4.6L 25mm to the left 'cause from what I saw underneath there wasn't a gap in the engine bay big enough to move a matchstick!!
All in all a great family day. Next stop the Motorshow on Friday!!

Nope, they had the Tickford logo on the lower left & right rear panels though.
I noticed in the photo's from Auto Action that the top of the rear wing had the same logo. On sunday the logo was missing from the rear top of the wing. Maybe they haven't quite finialised the decals yet??

Yes, some of us do know. Or at least I can say for sure anyone who owns a Probe does. Matter of fact so many American companies are in bed with so many European and Japanese companies, that it's hard to say who makes what sometimes :)

Very true. The Falcons in Aussie land (which I wish they would sell over here, seeing that I watch them racing in the Aussie V8 touring car series all the time) do need another section/distinction from the classic car Falcons.

Don't be too mad, we're not all dumb Yanks, I'm sure if you ask nicely someone in the moderator dept. will figure something out

Hi there RX3. How do you watch the V8s in America?
there are some states in Australia that can't get the coverage. (ok I won't start my rants here too)

How do I watch Aussie V8s?

Stay up RRREEEEEAAALLLLL late at night. Occasionally Speedvision will show some races along with their regular Aussie touring car stuff. Not often, but patience is rewarded. :)

Plus I have a friend that used to live in Melbourne that would send me tapes of races ;)

Gotta love having connections :)

NASCAR?

NASCAR isn't high on my racing favorites list, so I really don't follow it too closely. I really only pay attention at Talledega and when they hit the road courses. I also work at Watkins Glen as a volunteer in the pits, so I usually get to see everything up close anyways. IT's more fun seeing these guys trying to wrestle with those heavy overgrown taxis trying to make them turn right. Very few of them seem to be good at it :)

I watch some of the events, but more often than not, I'm watching GP500, World Superbike, AMA Supersport/Superbike, Formula Xtreme Superbike, or anything on four wheels that is making more than just left turns. Which is everything from Toyota Atlantics to 24 Hour Lemans and anything in between.

Hey guys.
I think that turning right in NASCAR is harder than it seems, you've gotta admire the skills that some of these guys have, even though it might look as if they have none. After all look ast how our own Dick Johnson struggled when he was over there, over here he was doing great.

On the subject of racemeets and people attending them.
Who's going to be at bathurst, I know I am. Kinda hard not to be there living at the bottom of the mountain.
Anyone wanting to meet just email me and we can arrange a meeting place.
