when first gear is about to go in to gear it pauses, then THUMPS in. this is when it is in sequential mode. this is definitely not smooth. does anyone have an answer? appreciate help. cheers-terry

ill reply to my own thread. it was the dif causing the auto gear to thump in. the dif has now been replaced under warranty. the first dealer was hopeless. the second dealer found the problem in about ten minutes. cheers-terrace

It certainly sounded like a diff problem.

Maybe the reason for no replies was your thread was written in the Classic Falcons catergory

Have no second gear no third gear and no drive gear but have first and reverse what would the problem be.
