Batmobile

The original Batmobile was the reworked Ford Futura Show car. The car was made in the late 50's and made the show circuit.

Here's where it gets interesting.

I'm 90 percent sure that the Ford Futura Show car was built from a 1956 Lincoln Premier(Sp?), so you wern't exactly wrong.

...another version.....

There were several different Batmobiles made back in the 60’s. I remember reading when I was a young impressionable teenager in the muscle car era that one of the TV show Batmobiles was built on a 1966 GTO frame with a 389 and three 2-barrel carbs. The article said it would run 140 mph on the street.

About 10 years ago I saw another one in a local car museum that was built on a T-Bird chassis with a 390-4V that claimed to be one of the TV show cars. Their use to be a mid-70’s Plymouth Fury in town that some kid had tried to turn into a Batmobile complete with fins and a huge wing/tail attached to the back with a “afterburner” molded into the trunk.
