hi all

just would like to know if a 5mm 5000mcd led be bright enough to lite up the dash

i tryed going on the fordmods.com site but it wouldnt load for me

Should be, I had a 5000mcd green LED in the trip computer and it lit it up fine.

Just make sure you get the right value resistor or you'll be frying 5 buck LEDs left right and centre.

Yes they are fine, as said get the correct resistor for them, I have converted my Ghia dash blue, but had 5mm 4300mcd LED's

You got a firewall on?

Fordmod pics don't show up for me either unless I turn my firewall off.

I think you'll find that this dash mod works on EL's. Something to do with the colour of the dash blah blah...

It works just fine. Just remember a few points.

Dash needles are orange. This needs to be changed. I just scraped the orange off mine and painted them white.

LEDs are directional, bulbs are not. Therefore you need to mount them further back to get the same effect. This will involve some surgery on the bulb holders.

Check you have the correct polarity BEFORE you reassemble the whole dash. Trust me on that one.....

As for 5300mcd, they're fine. A little dim in the day, perhaps.

well i got same of the dash done i havent had the time or money to do the rest

i use a 5mm 5000mcd for the trip computer and 3mm 4300mcd for the ant. swith and rear window switch

now just got to get the time and cash to finsh it :hy:

Where did you get the 3mm ones from?

they were 3000mcd not 4300mcd

and all i did was solder them on to the contacts on the switch if you want i can get photos
