I'm starting to notice vibration when I apply the brakes our 2016 Ford Edge SEL has about 55,000 miles. As I inspect the brake pads I noticed the inboard pads of the front brakes are worn down but not worn out more than the outboard pads and my rear rotors on the inboard side are Rusty on the edges. I will be replacing the pads soon what is recommended other than buying from the manufacturer and is it recommended to machine the rotors or just replace them?

I would replace the rotors rather than skimming , personal opinion . Pad wear as described can be down to dirt / s##t in callipers causing pads to slightly stick and not freely move and cured by cleaning out and lubricating as recommended prior to replacing .

As a heads up, often the rotors are already near the minimum allowed for their thickness, there may not be room to shave them.
