Hello everyone I'm new here!!
I'm happy I found this forum.

I have a question. We have a 1998 taurus. The other day the car was stuck in park and could not change gears. I found out about the brake switch and went to check it, what I discover to be the cause of the problem is that one of the wires that goes to the plug that connects to the switch broke off of the plug. Had that happen at a different section of the wire I would have just stripped it and use some sort of connector. My questions are, is it difficult to replace that plug with the wires (not the switch)? Where do the wires from the plug go connected to. And do they sell that part?

Thanks for anyhelp everyone. And I hope the questions were clear.

You should be able to get a part like that from a dealer ship. They are called "pigtails". You will have to cut the wires to the pigtail and bring it in to the dealer. Nine times out of ten it is a common problem and they will have the pigtail in stock.
