I have an 88 GT, and for over a year now the low coolant light comes on, but the coolant level in the overflow is fine, the sensor there is working. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it. I have already tried replacing the low fluids module under the glove box, but that didn't help. Thanks.

Well, it's not a perfect fix, but it works: I have seen this problem in many mustangs. I decided to forgoe any extensive work and simply unplug the sensor that plugs into the top of the coolant reservoir. Someone once told me to try cleaning the contact terminals on the plug with toothpaste and toothbrush, but it seems that that didn't help my situation out, so I unplugged it.

Hope this helps!
