Just wondering if there are any other Cougar owners on here?

I'm here. I saw PGTDriver and Marc from Germany on another thread. I already pissed off quite a few people with only 6 posts... a new record for me.

There was a "<a href="http://discussions.fordforums.com/showthread.php?postid=5885" target="_blank">Ditch the Cougar</a>" thread that turned off a few NECO members. They made me aware of after I recommended for them to visit these forums... so I let them know how I felt about the thread.

It doesn't bother me that some people do not like the Cougar here... I just hate immature "my ford is better than your ford" type posts. And really its nothing. Not nearly as bad as a maniac ATXer from the mailing list that started harrassing me with very graphic and threatening e-mails a while back...

Fern:

I replied to that thread. I want you to know that I appologize that the site or should I say a post offended some potential members. Please understand that we here are for ALL Ford owners. That was the sole purpose of this site. To have a place for all owners to come together. Please let these members that are not going to join because of a thread know that this is not the views of Admins of this site. That this is the views of one person.

Dont let one post ruin a potential great experiance. I can understand how you are upset and all, but just remember these are the views of one. Not the forums/Site itself.

If you or anyone has a question or a problem then please email myself "Site owner" or Tim the site admin.

I know, I know...

Don't be apologizing because you, nor the other moderators, never did anything wrong. I think I made everyone involved aware of my concerns and it turned into a good debate. I thought that I should have made these users aware of how those types of posts may effect other users and potential users.... especially those that own or are passionate about the car that they want to ditch. ;) I know that the whole thing was an innocent error and they probably didn't realize that they were going to fend off potential users.

Who cares if a few Cougar owners left now... our discussion might end up helping to avoid a similar type of situation in the future. If the board is good, they'll come back later.

not sure

I am torn between doing what I want to the Cougar, and remaining competative in Autocross. I would love to get the headers next, but that puts me into a highly modified class of Autocross where it would take a lot of money to come even close to some of the other cars, and then the Cougar wouldn't be streetable anynmore.

I'm taking it slow... I'm ordering a KKM this week or next week. I'm waiting for a bond to mature next month and then I'll get the Bassani. I'm getting it installed at the highschool where I'm teaching at... the two auto teachers and I are going to put it in after class some Friday night. Should be fun. And that'll be it for this year unless I decide on getting the B&M shifter. If Wolf-Concept ever comes out with that M3/5-like illuminated shiftknob that they e-mailed me about, I'll get that too along with their aluminum e-brake handle and foot-pedals.

Sounds good all, I would have to say that the process is also slow for me. I have a few mods, but have to temper that with eating.
