Just wondering how people drive.
I get between 10 to 15 thousand ks out of a set of tyres, with no burnouts!! Just Great ocean rd driving, getting sideways etc.

Download this movie. It s not big, just 900k. Its of my ED getting sideways

http://www.geocities.com/v8_ute/troyscorner.mpg

You can hear the exhaust too!!
What do you think?
How do you actually drive?

Yeah. It was about as fast as you could go without hitting the white posts. I am doing about 70 to 80 around there actually in 2nd. Perfect corner dont you think. I thought it was great when I saw the video.

Yeah looks pretty good  Must admit, I don't get mine sideways much.. I do drive it hard, (tyre and brake wear are proof :D ) but now in my old age I kinda go searching for the perfect line at the highest speed through a corner rather than playing "Hanging Out To Dry" :D However, that's not to say the back end doesn't know how swing! (and often when I don't want it to!)

Sick, bidda rally australia there.. In ym XD wagon the back end has a mind of its own - I find a bump mid-corner, add a bit of throttle, and WHEEEE!!.. hehe wet roads is great fun too, as well as dirt roads..

Yeah, now i'm REALLY looking forward to a later model six with a manual transmission on it.. looks like you got a bit of speed happening there!

And we've had your astra up on 3 wheels goin round that roundabout too... then there was the fishies down the main street and numeruous examples of sideways motion off just about every roundabout we've come across in bathurst :D

I think it's pretty safe to say we frequently get sideways :wink2:

Let's see, Mazda 121 first tyres lasted 8000 km from hanging the tail out, passed a mate over the Clyde in the wet one day with the back out about 30* to the direction of travel. Then there is the habit of straight lineing roundabouts, 2 wheeling! And the handbrake turns which I became known for, any time any place. No burnouts though, never had a car with enough grunt!

Mate, if I even thought about trying to get my rig sideways the thing'll alway cut out with the traction control. Don't mind it in the wet but it cut's out WAY to harsh for my liking, even in the dry. Yeah I know I can turn it off but then I've got a bloody light on the dash going non stop. Turned it off a few times....just for fun.
But with tyres being the cost they are, fun's expensive!

hooooooooooooooooow yeah, I'll agree to that. I must admit i don't go sideway now since i got Yokohamas on, but with the good ol Dunlop Monza 200's sideways was easy achievable. :D :D :D

Its worth a look.

By the looks of it either someone already took care of one of them at the end of the corner, or you had to find that out the hard way...

Naah i didn't hit them. I just come close. This is near my place, so i get a bit of practice. I also rally an Escort at the Geelong Autocross track.

You can tell its Australia. The Poms would like this MPG I reckon.

What do you people think of my EXHAUST NOTE?
It sounds better now you can hear the intake though.
