i was drivin one day and me brake dash light popped up, i cannot get it to go away unless i lift up on the e-brake lever, but when i let go of it the light comes back on. is the spring bad or what?

Hi... sorry cannot offer a suggestion on your problem. But maybe you can help me. I am lookign to buy a 1995 V8, with around 45000 miles..... have you had any specific problems with the car which I should be wary about? Anything to watch our for? Thanks in advance.
