Just saw on channel 10 news that the useless council of dandenong have voted against renewing the easternats license. What a disgrace. Apprently though as the organisers have NEVER breached their license a government tribunal (sp?) will almost certainly over turn that. They whine and complain about people dragging and doing burnouts in the streets, yet they are given an opportunity to do so but some old farts complain. ITS NOT DONE DURING NIGHT TIME so badluck. IMO GET RID OF THE LOCAL COUNCILS. Nothing but trouble makers and full of whining old bags.

My complaint for the day!!

They will use all the losers blocking off Dandenong Rd in the middle of the night doing burnouts as an excuse. Like it doesn't happen the rest of the year as well.
It always amazes me that the 'Pillars Of Society' spend so much time stopping events that take bad driving behaviour off the street..then whine later when it increases again.

You have to remember that these people are flawless members of society, who know and love their close-knit community, and will always make decisions that benefit everyone. Without a batt of an eye, they hold confidence that their decisions are accepted, as their decisions are a reflection on their perfect selves.
BTW.. Porn anyone?

There was something in the local paper (i live 5 mins from sandown)about the easternats, they (the council) said that the Easternats had failed 138 items or something along the lines like that, compared to the 2 things they failed when they first started.

Just to feed my laziness.. XF6250, which paper and page? (if you don't mind), I also live close to Sandown Park. Would like to get a little more info, without having to wait for the late news.

I hope their houses get 5000 burnouts dropped in front of them if they can this event.

The illigal 'dandy drags' have been happening for years before the easternats ever began and they can't even stop them. So why penalise those of us that do the right thing, attend these events and act in a responsible manner when leaving the track?

Go get 'em Jon, were behind you mate.

The cops have busted those drags more times than I can remember. They will be back.

The only reason they are covering the frankston-dandy road is because an intersection was 'painted' black last year and made the cops look dumb.

Noise levels? If they are complaining about that then wait for the track to close forever because international raceways tend to make a bit of noise.

HA HA theyve been and gone to many places remember the drags on ferntree gully road at the notting hill pup and the old pizza hut? Oh those were the days! They have been around for as long as i can remember. One thursday night we dragged a mates girlfreinds couch out to the median strip on the service lane to watch!!!

Then of course they put in all the no u turn signs along dandy road, just ment you had to do a bigger lap or head down a back street to turn around.

Well dont forget that we live in the nanny state, and we anti social car owners must be stopped at all costs. Were a danger to ourselves. We dont want anyone to suffer a serious injury like a blistered thumb washing their car.....never fear, Bracks will save us from ourselves, if our local councils cant.
Cup of tea and a good lie down, thats a good constituant :)

What upset me the most is how long has this event been running?? Why whine now? How long has sandown international raceway been there?? Why whine now?? If you don't like it MOVE, don't want to move then go out for the day. It's just like the issues with Calder Park, people sooking cause of the noise....IT WAS THERE FIRST, you all decided to build houses around it. The police and governments are trying damn hard to get people off street racing and into these kind of events and now these minority groups along with their useless and obviously uneducated councilliors (Sp?) are trying to undo it all. SACK THE COUNCILS CULL THE WHINING RESIDENTS hehe.

Amen.

Could not have put it better myself.

Oh and while i'm here I would like to complain about the noise the trains make when they pass my house. They are distuptive and their horns are exceeding the EPA limit. I want the trains cancelled. And no, i don't care the tracks were there for 50 years before I moved in.

The noise complaining is the reason Lunar Park in Sydney is only open with SPECIAL exceptions, it was shut down, was always marked to be re-opened, peope bought units etc in the area for the views and Luna Park was not open at the time, it got re-opened and they all complained spent all this money and then all this noise, so now Luna Park is nothing more that a landmark gathering dust, Councils are such spineless whimps, as EVERYONE has to vote in this great country of ours, councilors should get a backbone and make a decision, no matter how dumb or good a decision they always seem to stay in power anyways.
