Just a quick question, pin 33, does it do anything?

The page I'm looking at is probably a typo, but it has it listed as "electric fan 2 output". On the EL pins 53 and 33 operate the thermofans, this has to be a typo right?

Pin 33 isn't used on EA -ED 6 cyl engines
on V8 it is the EGR vac regulator so your book it totally wrong!

Not my book, bloody fordmods!

Karl, would wouldn't happen to have the schematic for an EL I6 by any chance?

No it's right, the EL used a variable speed fan.

they have this simple but complicated system to control the fans. On EF from memory theu used 4 relays and cycled the fans between series and parrallel and also used the different fan speeds within the motors themselves. On EL the motors were single speed but used 3 relays and did it slightly differently. Something like that anyway. It aint as simple as an output and return for each fan.

But there should just be two wires going to the relay block infront of the aitbox? I presume the block is only for the fans?

Think it might be easy to go to a wrecker and pull the loom/relays/thermos out as one piece then just slot the lot into the EB.
